CHOOSING DEPTH OVER BREADTH
In 2004, Realstar made the strategic decision to specialise in landed homes, establishing its early presence in the East, particularly Mountbatten.
In 2005, this focus expanded into Singapore’s Central landed districts and the Good Class Bungalow segment, marking a deliberate choice to build the business around depth of expertise rather than market breadth.
The team immersed itself in the landed market, learning neighbourhood by neighbourhood and transaction by transaction. Over time, that focus created a deeper understanding of homeowners, buyers, land values and the nuances of a property segment unlike any other.
A DIFFERENT WAY FORWARD
In 2004, William published his first book, The Billion Dollar Challenge, articulating an ambition for what could be achieved through a different approach to the real estate business.
That thinking subsequently developed into the Billion Dollar Challenge (BDC) Model, which Realstar adopted in 2006 as it moved away from the conventional agency model.
Realstar was defining not only where it would compete, but how it would build its business.
Those choices created a foundation that would guide the company through the years ahead.
